BOOK OF ACTS
One of the main themes of the Book of Acts is that of suffering. The early
church showed such tremendous courage in the face of opposition, threat of
capture and fear for their very lives, all because they believed in Jesus
with all their hearts and souls.
Superimposed over a map of the world is the Cross
around which is draped a chain. This represents the chain that Paul spoke
of in Acts 28:29 'For the hope of Israel, I am bound with this chain' On
some of the links of the chain are flags of nations where even today,
Christians are persecuted for their faith in one way or another. The purple
ribbon sweeping through the picture is a symbol that God's redemptive
purposes will continue from generation to generation, no matter what
restrictions and opposition may try to stop them. |
