RUTH
The book of Ruth is a story of
redemption. In this picture, the despairing figure at the foot of the
cross represents Ruth, who represents all those in need of a
savior.Broken, lost and outcast, Jesus nevertheless reaches down to gently
lift her up - just as He does with us. The figures to the right are full
of praise - the thing that God calls us to do, even in the midst of
difficult circumstances. The rain and sun symbolize the hard times and good
times. The garden door is the entrance to that secret place where we find
peace amidst all our striving. The scripture is one of the greatest
covenant promises of the Bible - 'Where you go,I will go and where you
stay, I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God, my God.
Where you die, I will die, and there I will be buried.' Ruth 1:16-17 |
